Operculectomy

Removal of the gingival tissue covering an erupting tooth  Sometimes, the gingival tissue over the erupting tooth doesn’t get uncovered totally as the tooth remains submerged in the mouth. It becomes a place where food and bacteria accumulate causing inflammation and pain. So, the gingival tissue is removed to allow the tooth to erupt normally.
