CASE 1 - Failure of rc along with fracture of crown & root

1. The patient came to the clinic with pain in this situation
2. Root canal treatment was not performed correctly and there was a fracture at the CEJ
3. Electrocautery of the gum was done as the gingiva had grown over the tooth
4. Reconstruction of the crown of the tooth with dentine pin, cosmetic screw post and core build
5. After the entire treatment- porcelain fused to precious metal crown was placed to restore function and look of the tooth. 2 years later the tooth is completely asymptomatic and functioning well.

The failure of root canal treatment can have several causes-  Undiscovered root canals, excess pressure in the root canal, breakage of an instrument, improper healing of the periapical region.
